Camphor Aromatherapy

In terms of stress relief, camphor (Cinnamomum camphora) is used in aromatherapy to calm and open the mind.1 Considered likely safe for adults in low concentrations when inhaled or applied topically, camphor is from the leaves, twigs, or bark of the evergreen camphor tree. 77-78 In the U.S. it is grown in Florida, but it is native to China and Japan.78 Do not use concentrations of over 11% strength topically, and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends not using at all with children.77
